Here's a lesson for all the dipshits out there on the web who were born in an English speaking part of the world, yet can't manage to keep the simplest shit straight.
There: a place other than here
They're: they are
Their: belonging to them
Your: belonging to you
You're: you are
Who's: who is
Whose: belonging to whom?
I don't know what school these IDIOTS went to, but at my school we covered this in fourth grade. Then we covered it again in fifth grade. From that point forward, my teachers corrected it if I ever did it wrong in any of my writing. By the sixth grade, I had it figured out.
So what happened to you? Did you simply not pay any attention from the fourth grade forward? How did you manage to get through 12 years of school without managing to master these few simple words that you use every day?
How did you manage to get and keep a decent job? Maybe you didn't? Maybe you work at McDonald's where all the English you need to know is "would you like that super sized?" Or maybe your boss is just as big a dipshit as you? Good luck to you, man. I wouldn't hire you!

You imply in this statement that the IDIOTS all go to the same school which is highly unlikely. You should have written:-
I don't know what schools these IDIOTS went to,
Also in the second dependant cause the case changes from I to we but most readers will not get confused...

Re: people who can't write in their own damned language
Thu, January 3, 2008 - 11:34 AMAs an Englishman, English is my language. America in doesn't have it's own language, any indigenous languages have been pretty much eradicated.
Most Americans tend to be rather poor at English, and of course as a nation, you're stereotypically arrogant, and this post demonstrates both of these points spectacularly well.
The title of your post should read, 'People who can't Write in their own Damned Language.'.
You didn't even capitalise the first letter of the title.
''I don't know what school these IDIOTS went to, but at my school we covered this in fourth grade. Then we covered it again in fifth grade. From that point forward, my teachers corrected it if I ever did it wrong in any of my writing. By the sixth grade, I had it figured out.''.
On the whole, it is preferable to express emphasis, not with capital letters, but with italics. However, this American site doesn't provide you with the option, so I'll let you off on that one.
'...if I ever did it wrong...', should read, '...if I ever did it wrongly...'.
'...corrected it if I ever...', would read more sensibly as, '...corrected me if I ever...'.
However, the sentence itself would have been better put as, 'From that point forward, my teachers corrected me if I repeated these mistakes in any of my writing.'. This is more literate.
It's a shame that your teachers missed out the lesson covering the inclusion of capital letters in a title.
''So what happened to you? Did you simply not pay any attention from the fourth grade forward? How did you manage to get through 12 years of school without managing to master these few simple words that you use every day?''.
'...12 years of school...', should read, '...twelve years of school...'. This is language, not mathematics.
Ideally, there would be a comma, after the word, 'school'.
''How did you manage to get and keep a decent job? Maybe you didn't? Maybe you work at McDonald's where all the English you need to know is "would you like that super sized?" Or maybe your boss is just as big a dipshit as you? Good luck to you, man. I wouldn't hire you!''.
You could do with a comma after, 'McDonald's', also, you really ought to have a comma after the word, 'is', prior to introducing speech, which should actually be written out as, ' ''Would you like that super-sized?'' '. You missed out the capital letter again, and, 'super-sized', really ought to be hyphenated.
You most definately, never, ever, begin a sentence with the word, 'or'.
Who cares anyway? I actually am literate in English, but I couldn't care less how people express themselves, as long as I understand what they are saying.

Thu, January 3, 2008 - 11:38 AMTo my own humiliation, you'll notice the glaring mistake that I made myself in the second sentence of the prior post. : P
